How to Find Joy in a Time of Despair
Innocent smiles plague my mind when I ask why life is still worth living...
But when all is lost,
We must stop.
To gaze outside.
We must think of the kind heat from the summer, and the reason we rise.
For we don’t all get this chance, to be amongst the living —
So take pride in your arts, your crafts, and your talents,
Believing,
That no matter the impact, be it big, or be it small,
Our purpose for living, is to find joy in it all.
The pleasure, the pain, the deeds right and wrong,
Of locks curly, straight, brunette, and blonde.
We owe it to each other, To try as we must,
To live for our children, our ancestors, and those lost in the dust.
So take joy in all actions, No matter how little,
And though we don’t always know how to respond to the despairs of the World,
We will solve them, like riddles.
