The Sacred Silence of Trees

The towering oak tree gave a public announcement;

It has secrets to share with me.

A glmipse into the past, an era long buried;

a congregation of my ancestors.

Their memories, voices, dreams, and energy

all stored within rough, rugged bark.

The tree not only has eyes, but a mouth.

See, its moving boughs up above our heads?

Its whispers carry with the wind,

and you can hear them

if you sit still for long enough,

as still and quiet as plants grow.

Maybe you, too, will become like the tree

and learn a great deal in life.
