Nomad
Snake, gold, and ruby born from blood and sand.
Shades of Olive and Obsidian tell the story of our land.
We sell dagger, diamond, and soft velvet purse,
Our hearts are hard and heavy; anointed in frankincense and myrrh
We’ve dressed in black and white garment,
Guided by shooting stars in the skies,
We’ve met both pharaoh and prince,
And for him, made fine wines —
We’ve seen jealousy, envy, and greed in the Sphinx’s eyes.
At last, escaped from the bondage of slavery and paid the price of 9 lives.
I think that’s why most people can’t say they truly know us...
For the World is merely a map engraved in our minds,
Like the strange hieroglyphs forever etched in the Temples of Time.
So take my hand outcast,
With silver flute and gold flask,
And like the stones from the Great Pyramids of Giza,
Our Good Spirits will always last.
And now that we’ve chosen you,
Rejoice and be Glad,
For we live the Life of the Ivory and the Ebony,
In the Land of the Nomads...
